How I like to organize my day studying for step 1! How I like to organize my day studying for step 1! I should be very clear, this is my daily PLAN! But as we all know, many times things don’t go according to plan🙃 sometimes reviewing takes a little bit longer than I’d like or I have an errand I need to run, etc. but having a basic template has really helped me make the most of the days I have off of school. I’m currently in pre-dedicated, so I still have to work around my class schedule. However on days that I don’t have class, I try to focus primarily on Step studying!

I have recently switched to timed mode on UWorld and have actually found it to be really beneficial for me personally. After finishing the questions, I go back and read the explanations and do content review based on the questions I got wrong/questions I got right but wasn’t quite confident.

This comes out to about 8-9 hours of studying on days that I don’t have class however on the days that I do it’s definitely been challenging to get more done for step prep. On those days, I typically like to track my progress using the Pomodoro method and aim to do 5-15 cycles depending on how much class I have! Life happens and sometimes I don’t even meet that goal on really busy days but having a basic plan and small goals has been really helpful for me in organizing my studying!

When there’s a block with more physiology, I like watching multiple videos presenting on the same topic which helps me gather an idea of what’s important based on the different presentations.

My Morning Skincare Routine

This post may contain affiliate links, which means I’ll receive a commission if you purchase through my links, at no extra cost to you. Please read full disclosure for more information.

Since I can remember, I have always struggled with my skin. I started getting acne when I was in middle school and continued to find a good solution when I got to high school. Because I played water polo and was constantly in the sun, I already had drier skin because of the chlorine and a lot of prescribed medications made it sunburning much easier.

I have tried many products over the years but have finally found what works best for me! While I am no skincare expert, this is what has worked for me. Check out my morning skin routine below!

Step 1: Cleanser

Dr. Dennis Gross DRx All-in-One Cleanser with Toner: for Dry or Sensitive Skin, 6.0 fl oz

You’ll notice in my skincare routine that I LOVE Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare products. I absolutely love this All-in-One Cleanser with Toner. I’ve been using it now for about a year and have noticed it definitely improving my skin. It’s super gentle and light, which I like. One thing to note, it doesn’t lather up and it’s meant to be worked into dry skin.

Step 2: Vitamin C Serum

Drunk Elephant C-Firma Day Serum. Brightening and Tightening Face Serum with 15 Percent Ascorbic Acid (1 Ounce / 30 Milliliters)

Also another brand that I love, Drunk Elephant! A good vitamin C serum can be an investment but I will say once I added it into my skincare routine, I can never go back! The biggest change I’ve noticed in my skin since adding in vitamin C is it’s overall brightness. While you do get that initial glossy look from the serum, I can see a brightness that persists throughout the day. Something to note about Vitamin C, it should not be mixed with retinoids or benzoyl peroxide. Also to note, it’s best to store in the refrigerator and out of direct light. Most serums are a yellowish color, if yours has turned to dark brown, it’s time to toss it!

Vitamin C Serum should not be mixed with retinoids or benzoyl peroxide.

Step 3: Bronze Drops

Drunk Elephant D-Bronzi Antipollution Sunshine Serum. Replenishing Face and Body Bronzing Serum for Fine Lines and Wrinkles (1 Ounce).

I love this product because you only need a small bit to add a bronzy glow to your skin. The bottle literally lasts forever! I don’t like to wear makeup on a daily basis so this product helps with evening my skin tone and is super lightweight. I usually will add a drop to my vitamin c serum or my moisturizer to apply to my face.

Step 4: Moisturizer

Dr. Dennis Gross Hyaluronic Marine Oil-Free Moisture Cushion: for Dull, Dehydrated or Dry Skin, 1.7 fl oz

This is the perfect morning and evening moisturizer. I love how it’s super light and leaves a really “clean” feeling on the skin. Because I walk a lot throughout the day, including to and from work, and am running around the clinic, I don’t like to be wearing a moisturizer that’s too heavy. This has been the perfect fit!

Step 5: Eye Cream

Shiseido Benefiance Wrinkle Smoothing Day Cream SPF 23, 50ml, 1.8 Oz

I love this eye cream! It’s super hydrating and leaves my under-eyes feeling moisturized all day without being too heavy. With long days and long nights studying, I love to splurge on this product to give my eyes some pampering!

And there you have it, my morning skincare routine! I am always looking for new products to try out, so make sure to leave a comment below with your favorite skincare recommendations!
